Whale fin for Waves Forever...Wood burn.

Both sides of the fin are shown here. I think these are my most favorite to make....this fin is going on a long board and I find the whale theme fits perfect. A Hui Hou. Daniel

I am wondering if you have a site that explains step by step how to make a basic wood fin? Also where did you learn to make these incredible fins?

Bob, I wish there was an easy way to make fins but there isn't. The secreate to my sucess is hard work. I've told guys that wanted my work cheap they were welcome to come use my tools and equiptment and show me how easy and fast it is. None of the "smack talkers" were up for the challenge.

I was self taught in the begining while makeing some 600+ fin sets for Christenson. Then Skip Frye showed me some things and had Larry Gephart take me under his wing for over a year and polished my skills. During that time every fin I made was inspected by Master fin man Larry Gephart. I've also done some projects with John Cherry who took time to show me how to work the exocitc hard woods and much more...now those are labor intenceive!!! Takes about a week or so in multipule steps to make a nice hardwood fin. Nothing basic about fins...for me it's serious hard work and a labor of love. Thanks for your comment. Semper Fi, Daniel
