Island style fish...

John Baehr of Hawaii shaped this beautiful 6'0 fish. All the ornamental work was painstakingly done by hand out of 300 year old Koa...same as the keels. All work done by JB. Hawaiian soul. DP

John Baehr said: A side note on that 6' koa inlay, it was a gift to my lifeguard friend Kamuela, he moved on to the Fire Department. The design was mimicking his family tattoo. Shark teeth with 3- 1st quarter moon, something to do with births and family. Look at the pic, you can see the design on his leg...extremely important with the Hawaiians these markings and family, so combined with the family koa wood and the family tattoo, inlaid into his board, well, as he said it, it's now an heirloom. I went overboard on that leash loop, gotta change it.
Aloha nui
